When you read a headline like this, you probably think that we are talking about a country outside of the United States. Sadly, this is not the case. As reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, working in the recycling collection and processing industry has the fourth highest rate of injury and fatality of all occupations across all areas.

Municipalities must rethink how they collect recyclables. Residents must think about how and what they put at the curb.

Automation is one way to reduce injuries….Just think about it.

Of course, this may be the last report we see for the next few years…So we may not know if it improves.
