Influencers come in many forms. Many are self serving, but there are those that are interested in serving others. In Bogota, Colombia, an organized recycling program does not exist in a form that we would recognize…and that is sadly true in many parts of the world. However, that doesn’t mean that people don’t care about recycling and local recycling education or that people aren’t trying to help the planet.

Meet Ms. Sara Samaniego, an influencer who helps to teach people how to recycle correctly and helps those who collect the recycling make a better wage and be treated with respect is an influencer who is trying to improve all aspects of life in the recycling community. Rather than talk about what others should do, she has decided to take action and make her local community better.

This is a message for us all in these times where our newly elected leaders are nothing more than transactional narcissists. Care about others…and help make things better in our local areas where we can have influence.
