There was a time when the general store had large bins that we used to fill refillable containers…and yes, that was way before my time!!!!!!

But the idea does have merit. As is usually the case, Europe leads on this front…and while the attached touts a deposit scheme…and I love the word scheme, I must say that the idea of refillable containers is appealing. There are stores here that do this…Whole Foods is one where at least in theory, you can refill your container with nuts…and some other items…

Sometimes, we need to learn from the past to make the future better.
