Buy Me, Give Me, Take Me, Send Me…Americans’ view on how to deal with Air Pollution.

If you have followed my blog, you know by now that I have stated that there is no correlation between peoples’ attitudes and their actions. In the latest work conducted by Scientific American, we see this borne out when it relates to climate change policies.

climate change policiesTheir research shows that people want something done to curb the damages and risks of climate change…but, and this is a key point, only if it does not cost more money.

One of my many fine teachers used to make the above statement about his students. He was referring to our desire for good grades and the fact that so many did not want to work for them. But the statement is appropriate here as well.

There are costs associated with everything. The only reason that inaction on climate issues appears cheaper is that we have been subsidizing industries that create the problem for over 100 years. Indeed, we now see that the EPA Administrator, Scott Pruitt dines with as many as 24 of the largest climate change gas emitters in the world to get his marching orders on keeping them in business.

There is no such thing as free people…
