One must give the state credit. California is attempting to reduce the 11 million metric tons of plastic that we put in the ocean every year. Their effort, and to New Jersey’s credit, we are doing some things to reduce micro-plastics as well…includes banning single use plastics and working to remove 150,000 pounds of plastic each year that is already in the ocean.

Of course, an ounce of prevention is worth 150,000 pounds of cure….
