The NJDEP has been receiving a great deal of criticism on its plans to loosen the regulations pertaining to development of wastewater plants. It appears that this criticism is well deserved.
At a time when we have come to realize that local control over such things as environmental protection results in a hodgepodge of rules, here we are looking to do just that…create a hodgepodge of rules that will allow one town or county to negatively impact a neighbor.
This is just a bad idea. When it comes to pollution, we have to learn our lesson…pollution does not respect geographic boundaries.
DEP should pull this proposal. It is that simple.
