One Person’s Grease is Another’s Money

Darwin said, more or less, Adapt or Die…Oil companies are moving the way of the dinosaurs…pun intended…but some companies are making an effort at adapting according to the NY Times. By capturing grease from restaurants, companies can make biodiesel. The draw? Biodiesel burns more cleanly than diesel from petroleum.

I know, this is really nothing new. Rendering companies have been collecting grease for years, centuries actually; and making products as diverse as soap, lubricants and biodiesel. Prices for this commodity have varied from positive to negative. Now maybe they will become positive again.

The question is, is this a good thing or a bad thing?
