PFA’s have been in the news for some time. The NY Times has reported that what we once thought was a good use of biosolids as land applied fertilizer may actually be poisoning our land. Yes, that is right…PFA’s in biosolids are poisoning the land.

Sadly, the effects have been detrimental to the very livelihood of a farmer who tried to do the right thing and recycle biosolids to improve his land health. This is a real issue…

It is not the biosolids that are a problem. It is the PFA’s in biosolids. This is going to get worse…

Solution? Well, as the old adage goes, Garbage in Garbage out..In other words, if we keep the PFAs from getting into the system…including us…we stop it from being in the biosolids.
