Solar and Farming, Perfect Together
The big question…should farmers be allowed to use farmland, even preserved farmland to generate revenue, and power from solar and farming crops? The argument is ongoing.
NJ Spotlight reports that the two can coexist and result in higher profits for farmers (a good thing since to keep land in farm use, the farmer must make money) reduce storm water run off, increase pollinator access (when proper cover crops are used) and reduce pesticide applications.
It would seem that this is a perfect marriage. Why the debate?
