High Fashion Does Not Always Equal Sustainable Clothing
Ok, let me say from the outset that I wouldn’t know high fashion from jeans…well, maybe a bit…but the fact that a designer is working so hard to make sure that fashionable clothing is also environmentally sustainable clothing deserves kudos. Mara Hoffman has made sustainability of her clothing line a key component of each item that she makes according to an article in the Style section of the Times.
By using a fabric made by a Virginia company called Circ, she has effectively ensured that the material used to make her clothing line is doing the least harm that it can to the environment. Well, maybe even better, it is reducing waste, recycling material that is usually not recycled and making a product that can be recycled at the end of its useful life by turning it into new fabric for new clothes.
Cudos to you Mara Hoffman for pioneering sustainable clothing. Thank you…
