Even for asset managers that do not own their offices and are just leasing space, changes can be made, said Wayne DeFeo, principal at environmental consultant DeFeo Associates. “Tenents today have much more power than they did five years ago,” he said. “If you’re a major tenant saying I want this to be LEED certified space…it can be done.”
