People Should be Naked

Ok, that was just to see if you were looking at the blog.

The Washington Post has a great article on the impact that our clothing has on the environment. In Europe, a study showed that people throw away 70 pounds of shoes and clothing per year. That means throw away, not recycle.

I know that I have too many clothes…and really, during the pandemic how many of us are wearing most of our clothing collection?

There are a number of ways to help. First, buy less and buy smarter. Quality clothing lasts longer, and looks better longer as well. Secondly, when clothing is no longer needed, use some form of recycling…whether it is a second hand clothing store for charity or a proper recycling operation that focuses on U.S. clothing recycling.

Lastly, consider what we really need.

So, go count the number of shoes that you have and the clothes…and simplify…if you dare.
