Water, Water Everywhere…Well Maybe Not

The headline that a quarter of the world’s population is facing a looming water crisis certainly caught my eye. Take a look at the interactive map in the NYT article below and you might not be very comforted here in New Jersey.

One of the absolutes that we know is that there is a fixed amount of water on the planet. Of that a very, very small percentage is fresh water…and of that, we have managed to pollute some of it.

The issue that leads to a water crisis isn’t really is there water on the Earth…it’s where is that water and is it near where people need the water.

We treat water as an unlimited resource. In reality, it is very likely to be the next resource that wars start over.
